Indonesia'16 - Tangkuban Perahu
After landing at Bandung's Husein Sastranegara International Airport, and buying my prepaid card, we went up to Tangkuban Perahu.
Although it was 24 degrees C but it is pretty warm, especially when the sun rays shines into the car, and you are stuck in the midst of a traffic jam.
After Bangkok and Bandung, I really do appreciate the transportation system Singapore has!

Around 2 hours ride up to Tangkuban Perahu, we finally felt some cool and fresh air. The charges goes: 200,000 rupiah (S$21) for foreigners, 20,000 rupiah (S$2.10) for locals, 20,000 rupiah for cars.
To prove that one is a local, they were asked to show their student card to the guard. Which is something interesting - In Singapore, its passport to prove Nationality, student card to prove if you are a student.
Yes, there are different pricing for entrance to Tangkuban Perahu around the web, but since we spent 2 hours going to Tangkuban Perahu, why not just pay for the experience and view of a lifetime right?After paying the fares that we were supposed to pay and continuing the journey, we finally reached! The wonderful view of the wonderful creation of mother nature awaits.
After taking photos at the starting point, we were recommended to go downwards to capture more photos, nearer to the carter. During walk downwards, we were greeted with steep and uneven steps, and luckily, I was wearing covered shoes, which made the journey alright.
As we reached pretty late at approximately 4.45pm, there wasn't many people, neither were most of the shops opened.
Walking further down, we were closer to Kawah Ratu, the biggest crater at Tangkuban Perahu.
A local was talking to us during the course of our journey, but he is pretty friendly, telling us where to go or where to take photos. Yes, before the trip, I read on how the locals selling ornaments will resort to hard selling, and following you during the trip, etc. Which makes the trip to Tangkuban Perahu to be an unpleasant one.
He did tried to sell us items that he was holding. He even tried to prove that the stones on the ornaments are volcanic stones and real crystals. He rubbed the black stones to the floor to show that there are no scratches and burnt the crystals to show that the crystals do not melt like plastic. As for the price, he quoted us at 25,000 rupiah (S$2.60) for the bracelet and 75,000 rupiah (S$7.80) for the necklace. It looked nice, thus I got one each, which, the necklace is the one he tried burning.
It drizzled a bit after we have completed our visit to Tangkuban Perahu, so we ran to the car and proceed for dinner at Green Forest Resort.
On the way down, there were a HORSESSSSS. Managed to capture multiple blur ones, this looks the most presentable. In my head, I went : Evolution of transportation. The old and the new.
